Description

With our laser band welding machines LXM series Two strips can be welded together fully automatically and then smoothed – without the need for a machine operator to be present during the entire process.

Thanks to our many years of experience in thin strip welding, we have developed systems that can reliably join even materials with a thickness of only 0.1 mm.
This unique selling point gives our customers significant competitive advantages and opens up application possibilities in numerous industries and applications.

We offer our LXM series laser band welding machines in three different sizes:
LXM80.0andLXM120.0 – suitable for various bandwidths and applications.

      • How it works:

        Two unwinders are installed in front of the welding machine. One is in production, while the other is ready to be loaded with new material. The leading end of the new strip is simply placed into a special clamping or gripper system. This gripper is mounted on a robot, which then automatically feeds the strip into the machine.

        As soon as the production unwinder runs dry, the machine detects this and activates a belt brake. The running belt is first roughly cut with the laser. A fully automatic centering system then aligns the belt precisely in the middle and performs a precise fine cut. Afterwards, the robot positions the clamping device at the laser, where the new belt is also finely cut.

        In the next step, both ends of the strip are joined and welded with an accuracy of one-hundredth of a millimeter. The weld is then placed on a support and smoothed with a roller to achieve an even finer surface. After that, production can continue seamlessly – fully automatically and without any operator intervention.
